Gay Outdoor Club North Wales Group

The North Wales branch of the Gay Outdoor Club is part of the Nationwide Gay Outdoor Club, with well over 1,000 members. Although the core activity is walking there are groups within the national GOC for climbing, canoeing, cycling, caving and other specialized activities. Check the national website on http://www.goc.org.uk

Here in North Wales we do around 20 walks a year ranging from easy walking on level ground to mountain scrambing. There is something for all abilities in the programme. You just need stout shoes or boots, suitable clothing for the weather forecast and a packed lunch.

The numbers attending a walk can vary from a few to as many as 40. We have a growing number of women joining us, and our own women's contact. The age range tends to be 30-50, though we are keen to broaden it out. We have pub evenings and dinners so members can get to know each other better and encourage car sharing.

You are welcome to come on any of the walks to see if the group is for you. If you do join you'll get a monthly magazine with details of walks you can attend anywhere in the U.K.
